My work explores identity, language, and translation of words and ideas across different languages, cultures, and written scripts. This is a study of how some English and Japanese words and concepts bleed into each other. I have selected words that reflect a flow from physical body to the intangibles of emotion, sensation, and imagination.

Nobody is one thing. Nothing can be everything.

Each painting tries to contain the world of these words, their meanings, and its effect on our perception of each other.
